Mughal, Shah Alam Bahadur (AH 1119-1124, 1707–1712 AD), Gold Mohur, 10.84 gms, 21.15 mm, Ausa Mint (partially visible at bottom on rev), RY 4, Located in present-day Latur District, Maharashtra, Ausa (also spelled Ousa) was an important Mughal administrative and military centre in the Deccan during the reign of Bahadur Shah I (AH 1119–1124 / 1707–1712 AD). Situated on key routes linking Bidar, Gulbarga, and the eastern Deccan, its fortified position helped secure communications, protect imperial territories, and support Mughal operations against the rising Maratha power. Ausa is also notable as a relatively scarce Mughal mint, issuing coins during Bahadur Shah I's reign that reflect the empire's efforts to maintain political and monetary control over the Deccan in the turbulent years following Aurangzeb's death, Unlisted in KM & Zeno, multiple test marks on the edge overall very fine, very rare.
