Ancient, Guptas, Samudragupta (335-380 AD), Javelin type, Gold Dinar, 7.34 gms, 20.31 mm, Obverse: King standing with head turned to his right, holding a Javelin in his left hand and sacrificing at an altar with his right hand, Garuda standard adjacent to the altar, Brahmi legend below hand reading as ‘Samudra’, Brahmi legend around, Reverse: Seated Goddess Ardoksho (Lakshmi) on throne, holding Diadem and Cornucopia,Tamgahat left of face, Brahmi legend in right field reading as ‘Parakramah’, These coins are struck in high-purity gold (around 7.5–8 grams) and belong to the earliest Gupta gold series, making them historically crucial as well as highly collectible.
