Hindu Medieval, Yadavas of Devagiri, Bhillama V (1175–1191 AD), Gold Padmatanka, 3.76 gms, 16.63 mm, Obverse: Five punches: 1 x Lotus (Padma) at centre, 2 x Kannada letter 'Shri', 1 x Sankha(Conch) and 1 x Nagari legend ‘(Bhila)madeva’ with a javelin below, Bhillama V was the founder of the independent Yadava dynasty of Devagiri and ruled approximately 1187–1191 CE, establishing his capital at Devagiri (modern Daulatabad, Maharashtra) after breaking away from the Chalukyas. His Gold Padmatanka represents the first sovereign gold coinage of the Yadavas and symbolises his assertion of full kingship following political independence. These coins are extremely rare, with only a handful of specimens known in museums and major private collections. In Yadava numismatics, the Bhillama V Padmatanka is regarded as a foundational and highly prestigious issue, comparable in status to the earliest gold coinages of the Chalukyas and Hoysalas, Reverse: Uniface, very fine, rare.
