Mughal, Azam Shah (AH 1118-1119, 1707 AD), Silver Rupee, 11.53 gms, 22.76 mm, Ahmadabad Mint (mostly visible at bottom on rev), AH 1119, RY AHD, with "Ba Daulat wa Jah" couplet, read as Sikka zad bar jahan ba daulat wa jah, Shah badshah mamlak Azam Shah, that is Struck coin in the world with might and majesty, lord of the realms, Azam Shah, Muhammad Azam Shah, Mughal prince and briefly emperor in 1707 CE, served earlier as the governor of Gujarat, which included Ahmedabad. During his administration, silver coins were minted in Ahmedabad, and historical records depict him entering the city with his entourage. Ahmedabad was thus an important Mughal administrative and monetary center under his authority, KM # 332.1, multiple test marks overall about very fine, very rare.
