This coin represents the inaugural issue of Sultan Ala al-Din Husain Shah, under whose reign the Bengal Sultanate reached the height of its political and cultural prominence. The inscription refers to the Sultan as “the just and munificent sultan, the descendant of the leader of the prophets,” highlighting both his sovereign authority and his asserted spiritual lineage.
It is regarded as one of the finest known examples of a Nazarana coin, distinguished by its refined artistry and exceptional visual appeal.
