Ancient, Indus Valley Civilization, (c. 2500-1900 BC), Gold Ornament-Diskette Shaped with a Hole at Center for Stringing, 0.89 gms, 11.05 mm, A hoard of such diskettes were found in June 2000 in a copper urn at Mandi in Muzaffarnagar district, a place about 200 km north-east of Delhi. This hoard is hence popularly known as the Mandi treasure. The hoard included varieties of beads, bead joints, spacer beadsand thin circular diskettes, similar to the one listed here. The listed artifact is a fine example of the metallurgical capability of the Indus Valley people., extremely fine, very rare.
