After Sher Shah Suri's conquest of Marwar in Battle of Giri-Sumel (The Battle of Sammel) against Maldeo Rathore, the Rajput king of Marwar, Sher Shah took possession of Jodhpur AD 1543-1544 (AH 950) and occupied the territory of Marwar from Ajmer to Mount Abu, however by July, 1545 Maldeo reoccupied his lost territories, Historically very important & collectible in the Suri coinage, G&G # D840, very fine, very rare.
