Hindu Medieval, Rashtrakutas (c. 8th-10th Century AD), Set of 2 Coins, Silver Dramma and Half-Dramma, 1). 0.51 gms, 7.99 mm, 2). 0.17 gms, 7.05 mm, Obverse: 1) Bust of king to right, 2) Elephant rider to right, Reverse: 1) Kannada script reading in two lines as ‘Shri Gana/tunga’, 2) Unclear legend, The legend on Coin (1) can be suitably corrected to ‘Shri Gunatunga’, a Kannada epithet meaning ‘the paramount of Virtuousness’.
