Indian Princely States, Salumbar, Feudatory of Mewar State, Rawat Padam Singh (AD 1804-1848), Copper Padam Shahi Paisa, 5.25 gms, 16.42 mm, jhar like symbol on obverse, blundered inscription with star on reverse, the state of the Salumbar Chiefs lies in the Hill country between the great Dhebar lake and the Dungarpur territory, it was the state of Kunwar Khandal Singh who with the title of 'Rawat' held first rank amongst the nobles of Mewar (the First 16 Umraos) and it later became the capital of the Chundawat clan, Rawat Padam Singh was the 23rd Rawat of the Salumbar state, KM # C1, listed in 'Currencies of Hindu states of Rajputana' by W. W. Webb, very fine+, very rare.
