Ancient, Greco Bactria, Sophytes aka, Saubhuti (245-235 BC), Silver Drachm, 3.29 gms, 14.04 x 15.32 mm, Obv. Head of Athena to right, Rev. Eagle standing left with head turned right, Grape bunches on stalk above, Saubhuti is believed to be a smaller ruler(Vassal?) in Bactria contemporary or successor to Selucus, Sophytes, or Saubhuti was the name of a king in Bactria or the northwestern Indian subcontinent during the time of the Alexander's invasion. Sophytes surrendered to Alexander and was allowed to retain his kingdom, MIG # 26c, very fine, very rare.
