Ancient, Guptas, Samudragupta (c. 335-380 AD), Gold Dinar, 7.76 gms, 17.97 mm, ‘King and Queen’ type, issued in memory of his parents that is Emperor Chandragupta I standing with Queen Kumaradevi, the king offering a flower to the Queen with his right hand, with crescent (for Chandra) above, legend “Shri kumara devi” to left and to right Chandra, rev. Goddess Durga seated on a left facing lion holding cornucopia and pasha with legend “Lichhavyah” to commemorate the marriage alliance of Chandragupta I with the Lichhavi tribe (BMC pl.III,-2, similar to the Indian Museum coin, Altekar pl.
