Ancient, Later Kushanas, Punjab (5th Century AD), Highly Debased Gold Unit, 7.07 gms, 20.74 mm, Obv. Crude standing human figure with a crescent like device, Rev. A Quadruped with in distinct legend around, These coins are made of a very debased gold alloy, They were first published by Whitehead in 1911 with a reported find spot in Ambala district of the Punjab, Mitchiner (1978: 475) regards them as Kidarite derivatives.They appear to have been struck by local Punjab rulers of the 5th century CE, Pieper # 1939, very fine, very rare.
