East India Company, Madras Presidency, Silver 1/2 Pagoda, 21.24 gms, 35.60 mm, 2nd issue, ND (1808-1812 AD), Obverse : Value in english and persian on ribbon around Temple Gopuram in centre with 9 stars to either side of it, Reverse : value in Tamil and Telugu around standing deity Vishnu on rev, In this coin we can see a stop between half and pagoda in English on the obv, No date, oblique milling, Clear traces of under type of Spanish 8 Reals coin is clearly visible at the both sides, an interesting specimen, Stevens # EIC 3.98, Prid # 169, KM # 353, very fine, extremely rare.
