Ancient, Signet Ring / Seal, Satavahana ’Elephant’ (c. 100 AD), Gold Seal, 17.52 gms, 14.07 x 21.21 mm, plain band with an oval bezel with negative engraving of a Satavahana type elephant walking to right with five letters in Brahmi ’Bannasa’ above, found in Nevasa. An attractive object of art, such important seals were used by ministers or high ranking officials, very fine+, extremely rare.
