Ghazanvids, Masud-I bin Mahmud (AH 421-432, 1030-1042 AD), Silver Zahiri Dirham, 3.51 gms, 18.05 mm, NM, ND, citing the Abbasid Caliph Al-Qaim b’Amr Allah, the Zahiri dirhams of Masud-I can be seen as the successor of the Yamini dirhams of his father Mahmud, that came to be the defacto currency of the Ghaznavid realms, The name Zahiri is based on the official title of Masud-I: “Zahir Khalifat Allah” (Transl.
