Hindu Medieval, Gurjara Prathiharas, Bhoja I (836-885 AD), Silver Dramma, 3.73 gms, 15.12 x 19.27 mm, Obverse: King standing to right assuming the form of a boar thereby representing the Adivaraha (Avatar of Vishnu), his left leg raised, A lion motif seen below leg, A wheel (Bhoomi?) in front, Reverse: Legend in Siddamatrika reading in two lines as ‘Shrimadadi/Varaha’, Decorations around, It is assumed that the lion represents the Rashtrakutas and this iconography on the coin illustrates the Prathihara’s supremacy over the Rashtrakutas, about very fine, rare in this grade with lion and legend fully visible.
