Ref: The attribution of this issue to the Bhakkar (Bakkar) Mint is based on die comparison and surviving reference specimens. A specimen published on Zeno (Zeno #129408) preserves the mint name sufficiently to confirm the reading as Bhakkar, although the present coin has the mint portion off the flan. The Zeno specimen is cited solely as a reference for the mint reading. Further supporting this attribution is the silver rupee offered in Virasat Auction 16, Lot 345, which originated from a small group of specimens that surfaced approximately fifteen years ago. Among that group, it was the only example with the mint name clearly legible. Previously, similar coins appearing in various auctions had generally been catalogued as Bang Mint due to the incomplete or off-flan mint inscription. The readable Virasat specimen conclusively demonstrated that these coins should instead be attributed to Bhakkar Mint. A small number of gold mohurs struck from the same or closely related dies are also known, reinforcing this revised attribution. Accordingly, the present gold mohur is confidently catalogued as a Bhakkar (Bakkar) Mint issue despite the mint name being off the flan.
