Ancient, Maukharis of Kanyakubja, Ishānavarman (c. 535-553 CE), Silver Dramma, 2.14 gms, 13.66 mm, Obverse: Artistic bust of king to left, Reverse: Fan tailed peacock at center, Late Brahmi legend around reading from 12 O'clock position clockwise as “Vijitavannir avanipati Sri Sanavama Divam Jayati”, Iśanavarman (Ī-śā-na-va-rmmā) was the first independent Maukhari ruler of Kannauj. He was a very powerful king, and adopted the title of Maharajadhiraja, He was married to Mahadevi Lakshmivati, and had two children- Sarvavarman and Suryavarman. Ishanavarman was succeeded by his eldest son Sharvavarman in 560 AD. Pieper # 3704, pg. 620, very fine, very rare with almost full legend readable.
