The design of this unique half gold tanka of Muhammad bin Tughlaq is similar to the design of his 10 gani issues (ref. GG-D373) which was also used to strike one-fifth silver tankas (ref. GG-D368). The coin being offered here is unique and is the first known example in gold of a previously unknown fractional denomination in gold issued by Muhammad bin Tughlaq.
