Mughal, Shah Jahan (AH 1037-1068, 1628-1658 AD), Silver Rupee, 11.37 gms, 21.61 mm, Katak Mint (visible at bottom quadrant on obv), AH 1059, RY 22, legend within double square area on both sides, Legend on both sides enclosed in a double rectangular border, two bladed
sword placed below the RY on left margin of reverse. The double sword,
or ‘Zulfiqar’, is usually associated with Ali, the fourth Caliph of
Islam. It accompanies his name in the marginal inscription, KM # 235.15, very fine, rare.
