Hindu Medieval, Nagire chiefs of Gerusoppe (Karnataka), Saluvadeva (1481-1510), Silver Unit, 1.92 gms, 11.44 mm, Obverse: Lion to left with raised paw, Sword above, Two linear circles around, Reverse: Nandi Nagari legend in two lines reading ‘Raja(dhi)/Raja’(a title of Saluvadeva), above legend is Nandi Nagari letter ‘De’ (for Vijayanagar ruler Devaraya) flanked by Sun and Moon, The Nagire chiefs were feudatories of the Vijayanagar rulers, hence the letter ‘De’ on their coin showing allegiance to their overlord emperor Devaraya, K.
