Taylor was the first Governor of the Reserve Bank of India whose signature appeared on Indian banknotes, making his notes historically significant as they mark the transition from Government of India-issued currency to Reserve Bank of India-issued currency. Although his signature appears on the King George VI series (from 1938 onwards) and not on the George V issues, notes bearing his signature are highly collectible as they represent the beginning of India's modern central banking era and the first RBI-issued paper money, As per the PMG Population Report, a total of 13 notes have been certified in the grade of Extremely Fine 45 (EF 45), while 20 examples have been graded higher than EF 45.
