Indian Princely States, Jodhpur State, Jaswant Singh (AH 1290-1313, 1873-1895 AD), Silver Rupee, 11.39 gms, 20.19 mm, in the name of Victoria, daroga mark on reverse, obverse has an additional word 'ali' for Daroga Shaikh Mumtaz Ali in persian, RY 23. According to the state gazette (1883) three darogas were in the charge of the mint during the period VS 1930-1934 (1873-1877), in 1878 Shaikh Mumtaz Ali was appointed officer in charge(Daroga). He was still in charge in AD 1883 and, according to Webb and Reu, also from 1884 to 1886. The earliest date found for Daroga Shaikh Mumtaz Ali is AH 1293(AD 1876) two years earlier than his recorded appointment. Unlisted in KM, Lingen # J.09.06.03, very fine, rare.
