Winner Medal, Silver, 15.02 gms, 39.41 mm, Dewa Hockey Tournament 1927 AD, Dewa Sharif or Dewa is a town and a nagar panchayat in Barabanki district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is famous for the shrine of Haji Waris Ali Shah. Famous Hockey Player from Lucknow, Late Shri K.D. Singh ( Kunwar Digvijay Singh ) made his foray into active Hockey with a tournament played at Dewa Mela, and in the year 1937 represented his College Hockey team in an Inter-College tournament, his family was present at the event as confimed by his descendants, Haji Waris Ali Shah organized 'Urs' of his father in the month of Kartik (October-November) where a big fair known by the name 'Dewa Mela' is held to commemorate the Saints, fine+.
