Indian Princely States, Amjhera State, Copper Paisa, 10.23 gms, 21.08 mm, Amjhera Mint (fully visible on the rev), Obv: julus and full mint written 'amjhera', Rev: Sword. Amjhera, whose last Raja, Baktawar Singh Rathore (1831-1858) was great Freedom Fighter of Indian revolution of 1857 and revolted against the East India Company during the Mutiny of 1857, thus he was arrested and blown off by the cannon in Dhar (so was the commander of his army who was also arrested and hanged by the neck in Indore) on 10th Feb 1858. The captured territories of Amjhera was transferred as a gift to Gwalior Scindia State as a measure of goodwill for their steadfast support to British Government during the revolution. Hence, the entire State of Amjhera and King's Family shifted Ringnod Fort, Chadawad estate a part of Amjhera Granted Jagir of 57 village under Gwalior State (approx. 800 sq.miles) and became Gwalior State's Territory, Unlisted in KM, extra fine, missing in all major collections, extremely rare.
