Ancient World, Sasanian Dynasty, Hormizd IV (579-590 CE), Silver Drachm, 3.64 gms, 31.36 mm, DA (Darabgird) Mint, RY 31 (Yak Sih), Obverse: Draped bust of Hormizd IV to right wearing elaborate mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent behind head, crescents with star at 3, 6, and 9 o clock in the outer margin, Reverse: Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper left field, six-pointed star, in upper right field crescent, DA (Darabgird) Mint on the right in Pahlavi and year RY 31 (Yak Sih) on left, Darabgird was one of the most favourite residences of the sasanian kings in Fars, it's modern name is Darab, very fine, very scarce.
