Ancient, Central Malwa, Hathodake City State, Post Mauryan, (2nd-1st Century BC), Copper Unit, 7.49 gms, 24.12 mm, Obverse: Tree in railing in left field, Brahmi letters in right field reading from bottom to top as ‘Hathoda(ke)’, A swastika in extreme left field, Reverse: Uniface, Hathodake is one of the enigmatic city states of post Mauryan central India, It is usually identified with today’s Hathnawar (Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh) which is an ancient habitation on the banks of river Narmada, Pieper # 814, very fine, extremely rare in this grade.
