Ancient, Eastern Malwa, (2nd-1st Century AD), Copper Unit, 1.72 gms, 11.86 mm, Obverse: Nandyavarta symbol with the central orb having within it an Ujjain symbol, Reverse: Three arch hill (Chaitya) with Taurines in the arches, surmounted by a Triangle standard and flanked by three small Swastikas and Taurines on either side, Known provenances of this type are from Jabalpur region. Thus eastern rather than western Malwa, Pieper # 518, pg. 80, very fine, very scarce in this grade.
